Deposits and Payments
An initial deposit of $500 per person is payable when you reserve. The balance is due 90 days prior to the first day of the trip. Payments can be made by check or zelle. Checks can be sent to: GrapeHops Tours, P.O. Box 161124, San Diego CA 92176. If you have questions about payments, please email or call.
If you are a group of seven or more that pays your deposit at one time, you will receive a $100 per person discount. Returning customers always get a 10% discount on any tour.
Price subject to change without notice due to currency fluctuations in Europe but will be locked once your deposit is paid.
For more information, see our Frequently Asked Questions section.
Cancellation Fees
91+ days (from the first day of the trip): 1/2 of deposit
61-90 days: 25% of the total price
31-60 days: 50% of the total price
0-30 days: 100% of the total price
Cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason for a cancellation. We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage to protect against financial loss due to certain cancellations and other trip interruptions. You can purchase travel insurance on-line at www.travelguard.com or www.travelersmed.com.
Cancellations received after the balance due date (90 days before the first day of your trip), will receive a refund of monies, less the initial deposit paid, if a replacement can be found.
Luggage
All baggage and personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances at the risk of the participant. This is VERY important. Each traveler on a GrapeHops Tour is strictly limited to one suitcase and one carry on due to the restricted luggage space in European buses and cars. Please travel light and be certain that you are capable of handling your own luggage. You will, on occasion, need to carry your bags up stairs, onto boats or ferries, or on rough surfaces. A 22 inch roller suitcase, packed on the light side, is the perfect size for a GrapeHops tour.
Children
Due to the nature of our tours and the number of wineries visited, we prefer to keep the age of our travelers over 21 years of age.
Delays and Changes
While every effort has been made to plan a trip that will run smoothly, it is always possible that weather, strikes, traffic, restoration, or other factors beyond our control will make it necessary to alter our planned itinerary. If such cases occur, we will make every attempt to rearrange the schedule without canceling any planned activities. If that is not possible, we will try to substitute similar events for any we have to miss.
Tour Cancellation
Tours are generally not cancelled because of internal reasons (such as not enough bookings) but if a tour is cancelled by the company for a company related problem, your options are to take a different tour or receive a 100% refund of all your tour payments. In the case of tour postponment due to a pandemic or other situation out of GrapeHops control, all tour payments will be applied to the postponed tour or any other tour at any time. If you choose to cancel instead of postpone, there will be cancellation fees which will be calculated based on several factors such as irrecoverable costs, any extra hotel room nights booked for before the tour on your behalf, credit card fees, and an administration fee. Note that cancellation fees will be less than normal cancellation fees if you were to cancel a tour for other reasons and every effort will be made to keep it fair. Keeping this in mind, it is better to book if you can postpone due to a world emergency, rather than cancel outright. Please reach out with any questions regarding this matter.
